The NYC International Screenplay Awards provides feedback with every submission and exposure to some amazing working professionals, Producer, Directors, and Literary Agents on the jury:

Petrina Hull – Producer

As an accomplished development executive, she had central roles on Academy Award-winning features including “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Happy Feet”. She actively develops multi-platform projects from early conception to worldwide delivery, and is currently developing a slate of projects.

Luc Walpoth Director

A seasoned Director of digital, documentary, and narrative content. His science fiction masterpiece Replika put him on the map as a highly touted international director, leading to his most recent feature film, “Dead End,” set to be released summer 2020.​

Brooks KephartProducer

A multi-faceted producer with tons of production experience with various budget ranges, and platforms. His most recent feature credits include “Judy Small” starring Haley Joel Osment, “James the Second” starring Lynn Collins, “Captain Black” and “The 6th Degree.”

Josh Edwards – Agent

Josh is the Owner/Founder of E Cubed Management, a talent management company that provides exceptional representation to extraordinary talent. He is a 13 year veteran with an impressive background in entertainment law and production.

Kristen Brancaccio – Filmmaker

A writer, director, producer, and founder of Exit Twelve Productions, her focus is on the production of narrative digital content. She recently wrote and directed the digital pilot Expiration Date: Resistance for the SYFY network and was a Top 10 directing finalist on HBO’s Project Greenlight.

Fiorenza CellaProducer

Based out of Paris, she founded Free Dolphin Entertainment in 1995 and is one of the main independent distributors in France. She handles financing and co-production of European content aimed at the international market, along with acquisitions and international sales.

The Screenplay Awards Network invites various writers, agents, producers, and actors to be part of the jury every season. No two seasons are ever the same. All scripts are judged based on the following: concept, story, character, dialogue, marketability, structure, and clarity. Quarter Finalists, Semi Finalists, Finalists, and Winners will be notified by email. Announcements will be made within 30 days following final submission deadline. We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time.

Submissions are accepted via electronic submission only.

  • Material must be written in English and submitted as a PDF file. The File must not be encrypted or password protected.
  • Screenplay submissions wanted! There is no limit to the number of projects you may submit.
  • There is no limit to the number of times you may resubmit one project. Each draft of the project will stand alone and not replace the previous draft. Only the highest scoring draft will move forward into the elimination rounds of the competition (quarter finals, semi-finals, etc).
  • All entry fees are non-refundable.
  • All submitted material must be original to the writer.
  • If a writing team is chosen as a winner, prizes will be given to the writer submitting the project. Each team is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize money, with no direction from Screenplay Awards Network administrators, staff, or judges.
  • All copyright, ownership and derivative rights to the material submitted to any Screenplay Awards Network competition remains with the original rights holders and/or author.
  • All writers, without regard to age, gender, country of origin, native language, or sexual preference are eligible.
  • The material submitted must be in English.
  • All material submitted to other competitions or contests is eligible.
  • The material submitted must not be optioned or produced.
  • Script must be written in industry standard screenplay format.
  • Feature scripts should not exceed 140 pages.
  • TV Pilots should not exceed 75 pages
  • Short scripts should not exceed 30 pages.

COPYRIGHT AND OWNERSHIP

Neither Screenplay Awards Network nor any other partner, employee or agent associated with these awards claims any ownership in or first right of option to any original screenplay submitted to us. All ownership and rights to the scripts submitted remains with the original rights holders until and unless other agreements are made.

PUBLICITY

Except where prohibited by law, submission of written materials constitutes each entrant’s consent to Screenplay Awards Network and its agents’ and sponsor’s use of entrants’ names, likenesses, photographs, and/or personal information for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration. This includes audio-visual information pertaining to the in-house development, analysis, and coverage in relation to writer’s submitted works. All uses of any entrants’ information will at all times be in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

REFUND POLICY

All fees submitted are non-refundable.

SUBMISSION CONDITIONS AND RELEASE

BY SUBMITTING YOUR MATERIALS YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO THESE CONDITIONS. You agree to release and hold harmless Screenplay Awards Network, its subsidiary, parent and affiliated companies, prize contributors, judges, screenplay analysts, sponsors, and any other organizations responsible for administering, advertising or promoting your submission of material, and every one of their respective members, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) past and present from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability, including but not limited to damages and negligence to property and persons, including but not limited to invasion of privacy, defamation, slander, libel, violation of right of publicity, copyright, infringement of trademark or other intellectual property rights relating to a participant’s submission of materials and/or acceptance or use or misuse of prize; provided however, that such release will not apply to any commercial exploitation of the script by a Released Party in violation of your rights under applicable copyright law; and (c) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Screenplay Awards Network and its sponsor, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liabilities (including reasonable attorneys fees) relating to an entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or entrant’s use or misuse of Prize. Employees of Screenplay Awards Network and their immediate families are ineligible to submit materials. Any such submission will be immediately disqualified. SUBMISSION OF MATERIAL IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED or restricted by any Federal, State or Local law. Voided submission fees will be refunded. Recipients’ eligibility will be verified before the grant is awarded and the winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility.
